Our story

A shack that kept its promises as it grew

Every plank, tile, and recipe here traces back to one family's stretch of the Malpe shoreline.

Where it all began

From a Family Residence to a Coastal Retreat

Nestled amidst lush tropical greenery and just minutes from Malpe Beach, our property began as a cherished family residence—a home built on warmth, tradition, and the timeless charm of coastal living in Udupi.

Over the years, its peaceful surroundings and heartfelt hospitality encouraged the family to welcome travellers looking for an authentic homestay near Malpe Beach. Rather than transforming it into a commercial property, every addition was thoughtfully designed to preserve the home's character while providing the comfort and convenience today's guests expect.

How We Built

Thoughtfully Crafted for Comfortable Coastal Living

Every corner of our homestay near Malpe Beach has been designed with one purpose—to create a space where guests can truly relax. Inspired by the simplicity of coastal living in Udupi, the property combines clean architecture with handcrafted wooden details, spacious open areas, and lush tropical landscaping.

Rather than creating a typical hotel, we've preserved the warmth of a family home while offering the comfort and convenience travellers expect from a premium homestay in Udupi.

Our approach

Three ideas that run through everything

Small, on purpose

Two retreats, not two hundred rooms. We'd rather know your name by the second morning than manage a lobby.

Local, honestly

Meals, materials, and staff all come from within a few kilometres of the shoreline — not as a marketing line, but because it's how the family has always run things.

Unhurried, always

No activity schedule pinned to your door. The tide sets the day; we just make sure you know when it's turning.

A note from the family

"We still cook in the same kitchen"

"My grandmother fed fishermen out of this kitchen before it had a proper roof. When guests ask if the kori rotti recipe is 'authentic,' I tell them it's the only recipe we've ever known — we just finally wrote it down. That's the whole philosophy of this place: keep what worked, and let the rest stay simple."
